Cook ziti noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Cook diced onions, ground beef, and add Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and oregano. Drain grease. Add sour cream, marinara sauce, and heavy cream. Simmer for 8 minutes.
Spread half of the cooked ziti in a greased baking dish. Spoon half of the meat sauce over it. Layer with provolone slices and shredded mozzarella. Add the remaining ziti and top with the rest of the meat sauce. Finish with provolone and mozzarella.
Cover the baking dish with foil. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake uncovered until the cheese is starting to brown on top.
