Start by chopping onions, carrots, and celery. Dump them into the crock pot. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, miso paste, bay leaf, and parsley.
Pour vegetable broth into the crock pot. Stir the ingredients together, cover with the lid, and set the crock pot to LOW. Let it cook for about eight hours, stirring occasionally.
After eight hours, remove the bay leaf from the pot.
Add fresh chopped parsley to the pot.
Your slow cooker vegetarian pea soup is now ready to serve.
